Andrea Zamengo (*1996) is an Italian percussionist, performer and composer based in Bern, Switzerland.
He completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in classical percussion at the Conservatorio di Musica “C. Pollini” in Padua (Italy) under the guidance of M° Massimo Pastore. He later obtained a second Master’s degree in Composition / Creative Practice at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, studying with Simon Steen-Andersen. In September 2025, he will begin a Master’s in Music Pedagogy.
With a background in classical music, Andrea has gradually expanded his artistic practice across disciplines, blending music with theatre, performance art, film, and technology. His work challenges conventional genre boundaries and explores new forms of artistic expression.
Andrea is the recipient of the Prix l’Heure Bleue Festival (2020), the Amman-Falb Stipendium open call (2023), the Musikfestival Bern open call (2024), and won second prize in the 10th Nicati Competition in the Open Space category (2023). He has received support from the Fondazione Giorgio Cini Venezia (2019), Lyra Stiftung (2021), Fondation Nicati-de Luze (2021–2022), and WaliDad Stiftung (2022–2023).
He regularly performs as a percussionist with orchestras such as Orchester Münsingen, Interlaken Classics, and L’Orchestre Festival.
